This is an Enigmatic, Beautiful and Impressive route where the condors and eagles will be our inseparable companions.

Deep valleys, impressive mountains, crystal clear lagoons and an immense tranquility define this incredible trek. The fact that it takes only 11 days will seem very short.

After crossing many trails, valleys and incredible steps; We will find the most beautiful snow-capped mountain in the world with a perfect pyramidal silhouette, the “ALPAMAYO”, located in the heart of the route and considered to be the “most beautiful mountain in the world”.

When the time comes, we will give our imagination freedom to take the best photos in the world.

It is also the route where we will find enigmatic constructions of our ancestors, customs, living traditions and much more …

Itinerary:

Early in the morning we will pick you up from your hotel to leave for the north of Huaraz, through the Huaylas Valley, which is flanked by two impressive mountain ranges: The Black and White Mountain Range.

After a break in the city of Yungay, we will take a detour to the Cordillera Blanca and the Huascaran National Park. After several hours by car and having made multiple stops to take photos of the valleys, lagoons and mountains we will arrive at the town of Vaqueria where our mountain auxiliaries and their donkeys will join our expedition to start our walk through the Huaripampa Valley, passing through typical and traditional villages. We will camp in Paria, within the Huascaran National Park.

 

Walking time: 4 to 5 hours approximately.

Approximate difference in altitude: 250 m. going up.

After spending a wonderful night in the Heart of the Andes and having breakfast we will start our walk towards one of the beautiful steppes “Punta Union”, this steppe has a spectacular view of the Santa Cruz Valley, snow-capped mountains such as Artesonraju, Rinrihirca, Taulliraju and much more. After lunch and having a hot coca tea we will return along the same path to the “Tuctubamba” Camp where our auxiliaries will be waiting with all the equipment installed.

Walking time: 6 to 7 hours approximately.

Approximate difference in altitude: 750 m. climb and 500 m. down.

The camp is located right at the foot of the snowy Pucaraju and Taulliraju, where the sunset and sunrise are simply wonderful. Today we start to climb from the first minute towards the pass, after about 3 hours on a nice path between the Ichu and quenuales, we will arrive at the Pucaraju Pass located between two mountains and with a unique view. After a rest we will continue with our adventure, now all down and flat until our next camp Huecron Cocha.

 Walking time: 6 to 7 hours approximately.

Approximate difference in altitude: 450 m. climb and 650 m. down.

After breakfast and taking photos of the lagoon and its trout hatchery, we will start our trek through the Tuctubamba Valley, next to the Tuctu River and  Taulli Mountain, after a calm ascent we will arrive at the next high pass “Tupa Tupa” after a rest and after a refreshing lunch, we will go down to the town of Pishgo and to one of the spectacular “Jancapampa” Camps, where you can enjoy the typical clothing of the Pomabambina women who go to this camp to sell drinks and other products.

Walking time: 5 to 6 hours approximately.

Approximate difference in altitude: 400 m. climb and 380 m. descent.

After spending a beautiful night at the foot of Nevado Taulli, we will start walking through the Laurel Valley full of vegetation, next to a waterfall and river that comes from the Zhactaycocha Lagoon. After a rest, next to this lagoon we will start with the ascent to one of the most difficult but beautiful climbs along a narrow path and at the foot of the snowy Pucahirca; after a few hours we will arrive at the Yanajanca Pass, very tired but happy. After a few minutes we will descend to our next camp, which is located close to the pass.

Walking time: 4 to 5 hours approximately.

Approximate difference in altitude: 550 m. uphill and 450m downhill.

A calm day awaits us to regain strength. We will go down an easy path to Huillca, the breeding center of one of the auquenids of Peru “Alpaca”. Crossing the Willca River we will climb towards the Mesapampa Pass, a perfect place to rest and enjoy an Andean lunch. To take many photos of snowy Pocaraju, Tayapampa and Pilaco we will continue on an easy path to our next camp. “Moyobamba”.

Walking time: 5 to 6 hours approximately.

Approximate difference in altitude: 200 m. downhill and 500 m. going up.

We will spend the night at the foot of one of the highest and most spectacular passes “Gara Gara”. Camping in Moyobamba helps us a lot to get to the pass without much trouble, but we will set off early in the day as the wind in the afternoon can become quite dangerous.

After a few hours of walking, we will arrive at the impressive 4830 m pass. With a spectacular view of many mountains, valleys and rivers, a place where we cannot help but leave a few  tears of happiness and emotion to be in front of that unique beauty. After many photos we will go down to our next camp called Jancarurish.

Walking time: 5 to 6 hours approximately.

Approximate difference in altitude: 630 m. climb and 730 m. down.

We will spend the night in a beautiful campsite, next to the river, surrounded by

mountains at the foot of the majestic Alpamayo mountain. After an Andean breakfast we begin to climb slowly towards the Jancarurish Lagoon, the base camp of the snowy Santa Cruz and the viewpoint.

This viewpoint is the only place that allows you to view, enjoy and take a photo of the pyramidal face of Alpamayo and winner of the

title “The most beautiful mountain in the world”. After taking many photos of the Alpamyo, valley, lagoon and the snow-capped mountains, we will go down the same road to our camp where we slept the night before.

Walking time: 4 to 5 hours approximately.

Approximate difference in altitude: 450 m. rise and 450 m. down.

After a rest and full of positive energy from the Alpamayo and the gods of the mountain, we are going to discover the mysterious path. We will pass through the place called Ruinapampa where we will try to solve many questions about the impressive construction of citadels. All this made with with white granite,  sitting at an impressive 4000 meters above sea level. After this beautiful experience we will continue with our walk up to Osoruri, one of the highest camps, where you can touch the sky.

Walking time: 6 to 7 hours approximately.

Approximate difference in altitude: 650 m. rise and 180 m. down.

Surely, we have spent a cold, but happy night enjoying a wonderful sunset and to have challenged the Condor on its morning flight. After a delicious breakfast we will continue with the Adventure, ascending this time towards the highest pass on this route, the Osoruri Pass located at 4850m. This location allows you to enjoy the peaks of the snowy Santa Cruz and the wonderful blue lagoon, called “Cullicocha”, a unique place to have lunch and breathe in nature. After taking many photos, we continue along a well-marked path next to a beautiful deep valley inhabited by the Spectacled Bear. The path, little by little, leads us again towards the Callejon de Huaylas and towards our last camp Calamina.

Walking time: 5 to 6 hours approximately.

Approximate difference in altitude: 450 m. climb and 850 m. down.

“As everything beautiful in life ends, our Adventure is also ending.” After spending the night and part of the day like the birds of the Andes, we started going down and down to the town of Hualcayan where we will rejoin modernity and where our driver will be waiting ready to move us to Huaraz. After a long hot shower, we will meet once again to share photos, experience and celebrate our expedition with the typical drink of Peru “Pisco Sour”.
