Trekking Cordillera Blanca

This is an easy hike outside Huaraz ideal for acclimatization and for enjoying the views of the city and the Cordillera Blanca. The Willkahuain archeological complex dates from 600-900 A.D. It was the imperial phase of the Huari empire. Huari is a city near Ayacucho. The Huari introduced the great walled urban centre, a new concept in urban life.

About 500 meter past Willkahuain is Ichiwillkahuain (Little Willkahuain). The trip to Willkahuain gives you a nice insight into rural life.
From the ruins you can walk to Monterrey and enjoy the thermal baths.
